Happy 8th Birthday Calvin!!

I can't believe my Calvin boy is 8! He is growing up way too fast! He is such a good boy and so fun to be around! Calvin is very patient and kind. He is the nicest big brother. I love the way he cheers his brothers on rather than competes with them. He is empathetic, sensitive and has a tender heart. He loves to play sports and is very good at them. His love right now is baseball. He gets all the neighborhood boys over for pick-up games and often has to bug our neighbors to let him in their back yard to fetch a ball he hit over the fence! He is also enjoying swimming lessons this summer. His teacher came and told me after his class that Calvin is easily 2 levels ahead of his class. He told Calvin to join the swim team because he is so fast with his freestyle. :) 

We sure had a fun birthday celebration with Calvin today. We have been getting our yard all in order and ready for his baptism luncheon, then we let him choose where he wanted to eat for dinner. He chose Golden Corral. He was so funny to watch when the staff all came over singing to him. His face went from pure enjoyment, to completely embarrassed once he realized they were singing to him! Too cute! He asked, "how did they know it was my Birthday?" when he found out I had secretly told them, he asked if I told the news too. :)

Later tonight we made some fun center pieces for the tables, opened presents, and enjoyed a beautiful rainbow in the sky, and a night of booming colorful fireworks! What a special day for a Birthday!  

Calvin has enjoyed a lot of celebrating this year. He had a big Birthday bash with all his classmates at the end of school and now his real birthday, and now a baptism and extended family party! Woo! What a lucky guy! :)
