10 Weeks!

I'm 10 weeks along today! I'm very happy and feeling pretty good too, but the best part about ten weeks is....no more shots! :) yay! Finally!

Egg-Actly!

Here are the boys coloring and dying their Easter eggs! Yes, we dye tons of eggs! An 18 count package per kid and one for Jeff and I to share. We always need a lot because number one, the Easter Bunny likes to hide them Easter morning and number two we have a family tradition of racing and rolling them down Old Main Hill Easter evening. It's a blast and we look forward to it every year!

Book Report Boy

Calvin had a lot of fun planning and putting together his book report. He read The Indian in the Cupboard and decided to make his own cupboard and place the little plastic characters inside of it. I was really impressed! He could tell about the book all day so I'm not really sure about what he actually presented to the class. I would have opted to have everything I wanted to say written down and carefully planned, but Calvin is more like his dad where speaking from your heart is the only way to do it. When he got home from school he started pulling out his homework papers and then comes over to me with this big smile. He says, "mom, Mrs. Galloway is the nicest teacher in the whole world, look at this note she wrote me." Her note was covered in good-smelly stickers and typed in bright blue ink complementing Calvin on his well-done report. She even mentioned that now she wants to read the book! :) Calvin was so happy and I'm glad it went well for him! Proud mommy moment. :)

9 Weeks!

What a day at the doctor's office! I took Benny in this morning after he was complaining about his ear. He asked me all of a sudden yesterday, "what's that sound?" I didn't hear anything. Then he said,"oh, it's just my ear, it wakes me up." After a low-grade fever all night and ringing in the ears it was time to see the doctor. Sure enough (after a 55 min. wait) he was diagnosed with an ear infection. Poor little guy, he's been so tough and still wanted to go to school today! Just before I dropped him off he mentioned that the sound was on in his ear again. Hopefully the medicine kicked in fast!
After I dropped him off at school Jeff and I and Tommy too headed back to the doctors office for my 9 wk. appointment.
So far so good! We still have two babies, and it was cute how their heartbeats were synchronized at 185! The little one is still smaller than the other, but growing and hanging in there. There's really nothing to be done about it at this point. Not until about 20 weeks. Up until then, the babies growth could change a lot and maybe the little one will catch up.
My doctor is so nice and told me if I ever feel like something is wrong to come right in.
When my appointment was over it was just the right time to pick up kids from school! Yep, long day at the doctor's done.

We are so very happy and excited for this new and neat experience! I feel a relief that things are ok and that we still have both babies. :)
The ultrasound pictures aren't the best. We only got a good picture of the bigger baby, you can kind of see the smaller one on top (shadowy looking) of the bigger one.

8 weeks!

I know I'm still in the beginning stages, but I'm 8 weeks along today! I still feel really good, just a little tired. I'm still getting a nightly shot of progesterone (only 2 more weeks of that wahoo!) and I'm looking forward to my 1st normal OBG appointment next Friday. I don't remember looking forward to those appointments like I do this time around. It feels like my first baby where things are so different. So many people have told me they wish they were having twins, and I just think if they only new how hard we had to fight for these babies... I hope they realize what a blessing one at a time is. I have been asked many times already if I wanted twins. I just answer what I really wanted was another baby. After finding out we're having twins, I honestly wouldn't want it any other way! :) Jeff and I and the boys are so so happy! Here's to hoping the pregnancy goes well and the babies grow strong and healthy!

Double the Excitement!!

We are expecting TWINS!!
We found out during the ultrasound today that there wasn't just one baby...but two babies! We did put two embryos in, however, with my blood HCG levels and all, we really thought it was one. In fact just before the doctor came into the room I looked at Jeff and said, "Oh, please just let me be pregnant!" :) The way they call it a "viability ultrasound" made me nervous that there was a chance the pregnancy might have ended?
How fun to see the two babies! What music to hear their little heartbeats! Dr H. said, "uh oh...you're in trouble!" (He has twin girls). :) "You're having twins!"
So, here comes the most welcomed trouble...in a good way! :)
We snapped a few pics, and you can see one sack is much bigger than the other. Dr. says that isn't a worry this early on. Both babies measured the same size, just different levels of fluid. I am 7 weeks exactly today, and they both measured 7 weeks and one day. The baby in the bigger sack had a heart rate of 150. And the smaller one 138. Both good strong, healthy heart rates.
We met up with my parents and sister Emily and her husband Jordan afterwards. We had a celebratory dinner for Em's birthday and our news. While eating dinner Jeff reminded me that 9 years ago today, on March 8th we got engaged! I love that he remembered that! We got engaged in St. George, Utah and Em was with me then too. Pretty cool I think! I'll have to write a blog post about that experience soon. ;)
The brothers are super excited and were really good for Grandma Wallis today. We are so grateful for everyone's help, prayers, love and support! We are very humbled and a bit nervous, looking forward with faith and hope and anticipation! We are so thankful most of all to our Heavenly Father.

Appointment Change

I changed my appointment to Friday March 8th. Jeff had one last clinical day on Monday so the ultrasound has to wait. :( I on the other hand can't hardly wait!! :)

Some Things We've Been up to

Calvin and Ben just finished up with their basketball season and they both went out with a bang! It was so fun watching little Benny (the smallest kid out there, paying against 2nd graders) make 6 baskets! He was thrilled and played his little heart out! Calvin also played well making 3 baskets and almost a few more! He was cute calling for the ball even when he wasn't open. Hahahaa :) He got to play one of his best friend's team and they were smiling so big when they got to guard each other. I'm amazed at how much my boys have improved and I'm so glad they love the game! I love hearing the sound of the basketball pounding the pavement in our driveway and their little voices talking to each other, challenging each other and cheering one another on.
Last Friday night Calvin and Ben were recognized for their reflections contest art exhibitions. They placed first (Calvin) and second (Ben) in their school and competed in region! They were so proud of their artwork and are already looking forward to entering next year! :)
We had a really fun time as a family at our ward's cub scout Blue and Gold Banquet.
Calvin will be turning 8 in July and is so excited about cub scouts! Ben is excited too but will only be turning 6. I think it will be pure torture for him to wait 2 more years! The boys had so much fun at the Space themed event. We were welcomed by a huge rocket ship photo booth (thanks to Jeff's amazing talent and creativity) blue and gold balloons, books about planets on the tables, space goldfish crackers,glittering stars and planets, a kiddy corner with a bean bag toss coloring pages and alien slime! Moon balls and space-ghetti for dinner, super sonic salad, and tang to drink (did you know that drink was invented for the NASA astronauts?) and some really fun activities! They got to hunt for glow in the dark moon rocks, shoot down aliens and monsters with nerf bows and arrows, and pin the parts on a robot blindfolded. The evening was complete with fun out-of-this-world awards for the kids and leaders who have gone "above and beyond". So much fun! :)
