Thanksgiving 2013

I'll have to post the family pictures from my nice camera later, but for now I have this one of Hailey feeding Charlie. We partied down at Rob and Christy's this year. We had a very nice meal and played a fun game all in good company! Jeff and I were talking about all the reasons we have to be so thankful this year. We feel so blessed that we have two healthy babies, Jeff's career finally fell into place, we are surrounded by the best friends and family anyone could ask for and that's only the beginning! We are very humbled by the blessings the Lord has graciously bestowed upon us this year! It's been unforgettable!

Babies' Blessing Day

It was a very special day today. Henry and Charles were blessed. Jeff did a really good job giving two blessings! He said he was touched by what special little spirits these boys are. I tried not to cry the whole entire time!  I couldn't help but think that one year ago in December we decided to go ahead with the IVF process.  I wanted another baby so much. I felt our family wasn't complete, I prayed desperately for a miracle!
I am so thankful that our prayers were answered! I still can't believe we have twins! (except for when theyre both crying and I cant console them very easily, or when I take them somewhere and unload a suitcase of a diaper bag two car seats, and cause a big scene! :)  At the same time I say all of that, I also don't know how our lives would be without them!
I'm the happiest mom alive!
Happy Blessing day to my two little stinkers! :)

Rub a dub dub

Rub a dub dub how many boys can fit in one tub? I spy 5! This is the lazy way of bathing twins right? Well, it was sure nice  to have the brothers helping me! They love the twins and especially when daddy has the night shift their eager-to-help little hands are a welcomed blessing! :) No fights when all 5 are in. Now that's amazing! :)
I can't get over how tiny Charlie looks in Ben's arms! He's such a cute little peanut! He was even sucking his thumb! So precious! I'm the luckiest gal alive!

One month

Here they are at one month! I think they're getting chubbier! :) They've added so much joy to our lives! I can't imagine life without them, they've swept me off my feet and wrapped me around their little fingers!
I find myself taking care of their needs for the better part of my day, and thinking once this one and that one is asleep I'll clean up the kitchen, or get some laundry done, or make a meal, take a shower or something.  But 9 times out of 10 I can't bring myself to put down the little snugly baby curled up on my chest breathing into my neck. The fuzzy little bean resting under my chin and the body that is changing and growing right before my eyes! I just can't do it. I can't tear myself away. So.... I let the house wait. I walk the floor babe in arms and I try not to notice every kitchen cupboard that is wide open, the chairs at the table and the stools at the counter are all askew, breakfast lunch and dinner plates or cups and food scraps are lingering about...some on the floor..., small piles of clothes are gathering in all sorts of places around the house, my bed is unmade, hair on top of my head, makeup...what's that? But with all of that, I gave to admit I am so happy! I wouldn't want it any other way! Don't get me wrong I love me a clean and organized house, but I am able to be so happy with what I do have, it helps me not focus or dwell on the things I don't.
There is a saying that goes, "We lose ourselves in the things we love. We find ourselves there also." Author unknown.
I think it's true, and I'm glad I'm all wrapped up in this. :)
It's not easy having twins, and I'm a far cry from amazing. I have had so many wonderful people help in so many ways. From a surprise meal brought over, friends taking Tommy to play, a friend scrubbing my bathrooms and floors, a friend coming over to hold babies while I shower, another coming to stay up late at night with me when babies are fussy and the hubby has the night shift at work. A good long outing to the store to shop with my mom, a friend going grocery shopping for me, a lunch date, a thoughtful text message, a box of diapers left on the front porch...3 times! Sweet little boys who bring me a crying baby or console one while I do the other. A hug, a warm sunny autumn day and a refreshing walk around the block. All of these little things and big things keep me going every day. It takes a village you know...I live in the best village!

Halloween 2013

Here is a pic of Grecian Goddess me holding baby Giraffe Charlie next to Zombie Jeff and pirate Tommy with our other little baby giraffe Henry snoozing in the stroller. :) We ventured out to the elementary school for the kids' Halloween parade!  Calvin was Zorro and Ben was an Indian brave. They had a lot of fun!
Halloween night we all visited grandma page and she loved meeting the babies (I have pictures on my nice camera). We also visited the Wallises and had a super fun night! :)

Twins at 3 weeks

My babies are 3 weeks old!!??!!

I think this picture is funny, it's Henry's look that says "don't mess with us!" while kicking his legs and Charlie fiashing a gangsta sign. ha!

My goodness they have really "come alive"! I've loved seeing more of their personalities shining through. They are both more feisty and awake. They're eating every three hours and downing 2-5 oz or more each time. They are getting bigger and they're just so cute! I'm still on cloud nine with these two. I don't get much of anything done during the day. I hold them a lot and love every minute of it! :)
Jeff and I took some cute little pumpkin photos of them last week for a birth announcement. I love them! Here are the "raw" pictures...

Babies' First Tubbies

This first picture is Henry and his first bath! (those stinky cords finally came off!) Tommy was such a great help to me. He washed the babies' toes and kept their washcloths warm and clean and held their little heads while I quickly snapped a few pictures! Both babies seemed a little shocked by the initial wetness of the bath, but each calmed down quickly and relaxed and enjoyed it.
Here is Charlie.
I just love having freshly bathed babes!
